General knowledge pub quiz at The Bowman on Nottingham Road from 7pm. Quiz night at The Nabb Inn from 8pm. Traffic

Albert Street is closed due to resurfacing work.

The M1 is clear at Junction 27 with traffic flowing nicely.

A local site manager has won a building award for the third consecutive year for the quality of the houses on Sherwood Gate, a housing estate on the fringes of Hucknall. A Hucknall fundraising group and local business have joined forces to put on a Santa's grotto and Christmas village to raise money for the community. Fun fact of the day:

"Happy Birthday" was the first song ever played on Mars. Mars Rover Curiosity played the song to itself on its first anniversary on the planet.
