A planning inspector has ruled against plans to build a large five-bedroom family home within the grounds of Newstead Abbey.
Gedling Borough Council objected to the development on the grounds that it would affect Green Belt land.

County Hall, the headquarters of Nottinghamshire County Council, will light up orange this Thursday (25 November) as a mark of respect to survivors of domestic abuse in Nottinghamshire.
This will take place on White Ribbon Day and at the start of the UN's 16-day campaign of activism against gender-based violence.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid has met members of Nottinghamshire County Council to discuss calls for a public inquiry into maternity services at Nottingham's two main hospitals.
Mr Javid met Councillor Sue Saddington (Con) on November 12 alongside Councillor Matt Barney (Con) to accept a letter outlining their concerns.

Hucknall tram passengers will not face disruption and inconvenience tomorrow (Tuesday 23 November) after the workers' union GMB announced it had suspended planned strike action.
The union are currently embroiled in a dispute over pay with NET, the company that operates the trams.

Former Rugby League star Kevin Sinfield will run through Hucknall today (22 November) as part of his fundraiser, 'The Extra Mile Challenge', for motor neurone disease research.
Sinfield, 41, is running 101 miles in 24 hours, starting at Welford Road, the home of Leicester Tigers, where he is currently a coach, and finishing at Headingley home of Leeds Rhinos for whom he made 521 appearances for in a near 20 year career.
Hucknall Arc Cinema's Ghostbusters event evening proved popular on Thursday night (18 November).
There were four screenings of the film, three of which were completely sold out.
