Hucknall Town scored six times to comprehensively beat visitors Kirby Muxloe at Watnall Road on Saturday (8 October) and move into third place in the league.

A Craig Westcarr hattrick as well as goals from Aaron Lamb, Joe Ashurst and substitute Joe Butler sealed a 6-1 victory in front of a delighted home crowd of over 200.

A late consolation for the visitors just before Butler's goal to deny the hosts a clean sheet was the only blemish on what was an otherwise perfect afternoon.

The Yellows' eighth win of the season moved them up to third place in the Uhlsport United Counties League Division One table. This result coupled with a rare defeat for pace setters Aylestone Park, means that they find themselves just five points off the league lead after 13 matches.

Hucknall are back in action again on Wednesday evening (12 October) when they host second placed Radford at Watnall Road, their penultimate league match at the ground; kick-off is at 7:45pm.
