Hucknall Town Football Club has made two major announcements concerning women's football in the town.

Firstly, the club has confirmed that it will field a new women's team in the Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Football League.

Secondly the football club's new stadium, The RM Stadium, on Aerial Way, will host all of Notts County Women Football Club's home matches. They had previously played at Basford United's Greenwich Avenue.

The club earned promotion to tier four of women's football last season by winning the East Midlands Women's Regional Football League Premier Division last season. An impressive campaign saw them win 14 of their 16 league matches as they swept to the title.

The promotion means they will welcome the likes of Lincoln City, Northampton Town and Peterborough United to the RM Stadium during the 2023/24 season.

A statement on Hucknall Town's official website concluded: "These are exciting developments for the club. We will be announcing further information shortly, related to our youth football section and also our first team squad news in the next few days."
