Hucknall Town is set to confirm its retained list by the end of the week.

Speculation about which players will remain at The RM Stadium has been rife since the season ended in April.

The football club secured promotion from the Uhlsport United Counties Division One league following a tense penalty shootout victory over Birstall United in the final.

This means that 'The Yellows' will play in step five of non-league football during the 2023/24 season.

Despite securing promotion, it has been a slightly unsettled start to the summer for the club with the surprise exit of three key first team players.

Striker Kieran Knight and goalkeeper Louis Kinnerley have joined Carlton Town whilst former Nottingham Forest and Notts County forward Craig Westcarr has also left after two years.

Westcarr, who was the club's top goalscorer during both seasons he was at the club, put his exit down to a lack of communication from the management team.

However, last week, manager Andy Ingle said that he was in 'deep discussions' with players about their futures at the club.

Now the football club has confirmed via Twitter that they are set to make some announcements this week.

The tweet read: "We will have an update on our retained players list later this week along with other news....watch this space!"
