Residents in Hucknall will have the opportunity to give Ashfield District Council their thoughts on its new masterplan aimed at shaping the future of the town centre.

It comes after the authority's cabinet approved a four-week consultation on the major 38-page plan, with events to be held throughout April and May.

Hucknall Town's charge to the Uhlsport United Counties League Division One play-offs continued on Saturday (26 March) as they made it three wins within the space of a week by beating Clifton All Whites 3-0.

Hucknall made the short trip to the Norman Archer Memorial Ground for the second time this season. It had been the scene of a first round cup victory last October that was marred by an incident which left a Town fan needing hospital treatment for a serious eye injury.

Several firefighters from across Nottinghamshire, including a crew from Hucknall Fire Station, are taking part in a training exercise at Newstead Abbey today.

Visitors to the major tourist attraction, the former home of Lord Byron, which is just over five miles from Hucknall, were told via social media 'not to be alarmed' if they saw a high number of emergency vehicles in the grounds today.
