UPDATE: This item has now been found. Ashfield District Council wishes to thank everyone who contacted them with information concerning the missing defibrillator.

The defibrillator, usually stored in the Council offices on Watnall Road in Hucknall, is missing, Ashfield District Council have confirmed.

Taking to Facebook yesterday afternoon, the Council wrote: "The defibrillator at Watnall Road, Hucknall is missing. There is no damage to secure box it is stored in, but the police and ambulance service have no record of it being accessed.

"If you have any information regarding the missing defib please contact us via direct message."

According to figures published in January 2020 by London Ambulance Service, when a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) was used by a bystander, and at least one shock was delivered to patients, the survival rate was more than five times higher (57.1 per cent).

Therefore, it is common for businesses and public offices to have one should there be an emergency that requires the use of one.

Anyone with information about the missing defibrillator can contact the Council via their Facebook page here .
