This week's event of the week is 'Your Time. Believe, Belong, Become' a weight loss body confidence and well-being support group which has its very first meeting on Friday 10 September.

The group will meet at 9:45am at The John Godber Centre on Ogle Street in Hucknall. The cost is £3.75 but as it is run by a Community Interest Company, any profit made will be donated to the Hucknall Food Bank.

Speaking exclusively to Hucknall Nub News, group founder Theresa Gandy said: "It is essentially a weight loss group but it's not just about that.

"I've lost eight and a half stone myself and struggled since the age of 16 with my weight. It's only now that I'm in my 50s that I realise it's all to do with mental wellbeing and the way your mind is. I want the people to come not just for the sake of standing on a set of scales. I want them to feel confident in their bodies no matter what size they are and then if their mental wellbeing's a lot better, then the weight will come off because you won't be beating yourself up about the numbers on the scales.

"I've spent years worrying about what the number is on the scales, and after the last 18 months human contact and being part of a group, the group support has never been more important.

"So it's not just a weight loss group it's a support as much as anything. You don't have to get on the scales if you think it's going to affect your wellbeing for that day, you can just come and get the support of the group and from myself.

"My mental wellbeing is in a better place now than it ever has been and I just want to go out and help the community."
