Eagle eyed readers may have spotted that over the last few weeks the digital display board for the petrol station at Hucknall Tesco on Ashgate Road has been out of order.

Hucknall Nub News was alerted to this issue by a number of readers, with many speculating that this could be a tactical move by the store to prevent customers being put off by the price before reaching the forecourt.

Others have said they have chosen to boycott the petrol station recently as they feel the lack of transparency over pricing is a dishonest and disingenuous ploy, and have instead opted to spend their money with the other petrol station in Hucknall, Texaco, on Watnall Road.

After listening to these comments, we contacted Tesco about the issue, and it turns out that the real reasoning for the pricing 'blackout' is far more mundane than theorised.

A Tesco spokesperson said: "We're very sorry that price signage at our Hucknall Extra petrol station is currently out of order. A replacement sign has been ordered and we hope to have this installed as soon as possible."

Look out for the new working display being installed and send us a picture via email ([email protected]) or over social media, such as Facebook or Twitter, when it's working again.
