Hucknall Town moved back into the play-off places on Wednesday night (28 September) thanks to a commanding 4-0 away win at Southwell City.
Goals from Joe Ashurst and Craig Westcarr, followed by a second half brace from substitute Morgan Bell ensured the Yellows left the Brinkley Centenary Sports Ground with all three points.
The win elevated them to fifth position in the Uhlsport United Counties League, the final play-off position and sees them just eight points adrift of league leaders Aylestone Park.
It was the club's second victory in the space of four days having beaten Rainworth Miners Welfare last Saturday (24 September).
The back-to-back victories came as a relief to Yellows fans after the team endured a worrying run of three league games without a win earlier this month.
Hucknall had headed into September full of confidence sitting third in the table and feeling that a title tilt was a realistic aspiration for this campaign, following a late win over Clipstone.
However, draws with Clifton All Whites and Barrow Town, in between a shock home defeat to Gedling Miners Welfare seemed to have undone what had been a fantastic start to the new season.
These two latest victories seem to have corrected Hucknall's stuttering form though, putting them back to where they were aiming to be before the season began.
Tomorrow (Saturday 1 October) sees Hucknall travel to Regatta Way Sports Ground to face West Bridgford who are just four points above the relegation zone after a difficult start which has seen them lose eight of their first 12 league games.
