Hucknall Town were made to work hard for a crucial victory away at Harrowby United on Saturday (5 November).
The Yellows rewarded their fans who had made the near 70-mile round trip with an impressive performance which saw them emerge 3-2 winners in a competitive game.
A Kieran Knight brace and a goal from Craig Westcarr were enough to ensure the visitors left with all three points.
Knight opened the scoring with a powerful finish from close range ten minutes in.
However, Hucknall were pegged back with just over half an hour gone, with striker Elliot King heading in the equaliser.
The teams trudged off with the scores level at half time.
It was Andy Ingle's men who made the better start to the second half as Knight added his second, this time with a header, to put Hucknall back in front.
Westcarr made no mistake from the penalty spot to give Hucknall a two-goal cushion with just over 15 minutes remaining.
King added his second of the match with seven minutes remaining to make it a nervy finish but a late red card for the hosts helped ease their threat and Hucknall were able to see the game out.
The win means they remain fourth in the Uhlsport United Counties Division One table but they did close in on the two clubs immediately above them: Radford and Birstall United, as both sides suffered shock home defeats.
Radford were beaten 4-2 by Bourne Town who consequently climbed into fifth position, the last play-off place. Whilst Birstall were beaten 2-1 by Southwell City.
Hucknall are back in action on Saturday (12 November) when they travel to Leicestershire to face Saffron Dynamo.
