Hucknall Town bounced back after a difficult week to record their first win in three matches as they beat Kirby Muxloe by three goals to nil on Saturday (4 February).

The result followed a disappointing goalless draw with Clipstone and narrow defeat away at Birstall United.

However, this proved a much more fruitful trip to Leicestershire.

Goals from Kieran Knight and substitutes Trevell Lindo and Aaron Lamb gave The Yellows an impressive away victory that moved them up to fourth place in the Uhlsport United Counties Division One table.

It took Hucknall while to get into their stride and a slightly laboured first half performance saw them a little lucky to get to the break level on terms after the visitors hit the post and drew an excellent save from Louis Kinnerley in goal.

However, as he has done frequently this season, Knight found the crucial breakthrough eight minutes into the second half.

It then took until added time before another goal arrived as Lindo doubled the visitors' advantage before Lamb capped things off by netting with virtually the last kick of the game.

Hucknall are back in action on Saturday when they host third place Newark Town, a side they sit just a point and place behind in the table.
