Hucknall Town maintained their position in the final Uhlsport United Counties Division One playoff place by securing a routine 2-0 home win over Saffron Dynamo on Saturday (4 March).

Goals from Kieran Knight and Craig Westcarr delighted a bumper crowd of 310 people at The RM Stadium.

There were few clear-cut chances in the first half with Knight and Lamb going close for the Yellows.

However, just as the teams looked set to trudge off level, Westcarr picked out Knight from a corner and he headed the ball home to break the deadlock.

Knight turned provider for the second by racing onto a long ball, rounding the opposition goalkeeper and teeing up Westcarr who found the top corner with his effort.

The hosts were then able to comfortably see out the last 25 minutes to ensure they claimed all three points.

Hucknall return to action on Saturday (11 March) when they host Southwell City.
