Watnall Road is braced to hold its final ever football match tonight (Wednesday 19 October) when Hucknall Town play Basford United there in the second round of the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Cup.
The football club will leave the ground, which has been their home for 79 years, after tonight's game and will shortly move into their new home, The RM Stadium, located across the road on Aerial Way.
Saturday (15 October) saw Hucknall play their final league match at Watnall Road and waive the admission fee. This resulted in over 800 fans witnessing a controversial 2-0 defeat to leaders Aylestone Park.
Now, a break from the league campaign provides The Yellows an opportunity to progress to the third round of the Cup if they can beat Basford, a side that play three steps higher in the non-league pyramid.
The game kicks off at 7.45pm and this will the very last chance for fans to watch football at Watnall Road before demolition starts in a few weeks' time.
Tickets cost £6 each for adults, £2 each for under 16s and the concession price is £4. All tickets can be purchased on the gate.
Following tonight's fixture, Hucknall will embark on a run of seven away matches before their new home opens.
This is expected to happen either at the end of November or at the very beginning of December, with Mansfield Town manager Nigel Clough set to officially unveil the club's new stadium when the time comes.
