There are currently no trains calling at Hucknall station due to the Nottingham-Worksop line being closed after a person was hit by a train earlier this afternoon.

This occurred between Mansfield and Worksop, meaning all services on the Nottingham / Mansfield / Worksop route are unable to run in both directions.

At present emergency services are on site, managing the incident.

East Midlands Railway who operate the route are expecting the line to reopen in the next 2 hours. In a statement on their website, they said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Mansfield and Worksop is disrupting our trains on the Nottingham / Mansfield / Worksop route.

"As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 16:00."

In the meantime, replacement bus services are being organised to run in place of the trains on the route. Whilst tickets are being accepted on Northern services travelling between Nottingham and Worksop via Sheffield. Commuters are being warned that this could add up to an hour extra to journey times.
